Fontana's Bank of America: An Adaptive Reuse Project
2025
Working with Brian Garay we'll be envisioning the historic Bank of America at 16860 Arrow Boulevard in Fontana, California as a potential museum and cultural center! (This building is slated to be demolished soon). This spot has been recognized as the Bank of America as early as 1938 and was permanently closed in 2021. Although the existing building was not completed until 1975, Fontana's community has recognized it as a critical piece of its identity having hosted early cultural affairs in its halls. We seek to envision a future that rather than demolish, incorporates the historic building into their downtown revitalization plans as a cultural center, museum, and a much needed space for its archives.
Museo del Mercado: Community Storytelling through Museums
2025
Over the 2025 spring semester I applied (and was approved!) for a University of Southern California Arts in Action Grant to help Kickstart MDM, a project to bring museums to community spaces such as Mercaditos, Pop-up shops, farmers markets, etc.! this project seeks to do two things 1: make gaining skillsets and experience in the public history and heritage conservation field accessible to our youth and 2: Use museum exhibits to shine light on present issues such as community displacement in Southern California! check out our now working website link!
